FROM TRASH TO TREASURE

We bought this house on the Internet having never been to Oklahoma or to the house, only trusting that this was the place the Lord had for us. We had prayed for a few selfish things and He blessed us, not only with material things but with new friends that have become like family. Also the awesome chance everyday to see the wonders of God in the view from our home.

lots of love

This is a sweet gift from Steven my husband.

This tub foot gone book end is from a friend.

We came across this fireplace mantel by chance, isn't it beautiful.
PLEASE  LEAVE  A  COMMENT, should I paint it WHITE or not.

This is an old store counter we found behind a building. It makes an awesome  kitchen island, don't you agree. We'd love to hear what you think of it!!!

I love this scalloped cake pan.

THE PEDISTAL TUB

Today we started to install the pedestal tub and the vintage ceiling tiles (with an awesome cream and rusty patina) as a wall covering in the master bathroom.  We still need to add the piece of pine at the top of the tin.  I will be re-glazing the tub eventually but 1st things first.  I will be painting the walls, the floor and the moulding. I will take pictures as we go. I am hoping to find 2 matching or similar hanging lights for over the pedestal sinks that are out of view in this picture.

Spent the day with Steven, he is awesome. He bought me a beautiful mirror, a white table cloth, 2 tarnished creamers, and a pair of vintage earrings. Then we went to McKinney to sell our wares.

We were successful and I only spent half of what I earned. 6 white ceiling tiles with lots of detail, 1 unique vintage picket from an old fence, a cool tarnished bowl for Steve's keys, and a small lamp shade frame.
Steve & I met up with Ella Elaine and her husband. Sharing stories of found treasure.

One last picture of Christmas before we put  it away.

Christmas decorations 2010 in Texoma

The hutch that we brought from North Dakota. We are thinking about using the ceiling tiles next to the hutch like Wainscoting ,what do you think?

I kept asking for a music stand to use during our family worship time and of course this is what I got for Christmas rusty but nice.

The old cabinet that was rescued from the curb all dressed up for Christmas.

Christmas at the Harris house

Christmas this year meant a new look for the girls

Caitlynds room is a throw back to the 70's. We should have taken pictures before we started so you could see the total transformation, it really is a big change. You can see we still need to install the door. Peace out man.
Brittany's room on the other hand is teenage elegance.
The room is bright even when the lights are off.
